This weekend F1 introduced some new activities for fans in the paddock, one of which is the chance to get a passenger ride in a two-seater F1 car driven by legends like Zsolt Baumgartner or Patrick Friesacher. How awesome is that?!
The old Cosworth-powered V10 Minardis have been doing this sort of thing for years so you’d expect their reliability to be pretty good, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case in Barcelona as the car stopped out on track and had to be towed back to the pits.
It must suck for the person who was all set to enjoy the ride of a lifetime only to have the car break down on them, although at least they’ll have a greater appreciation of what Fernando Alonso has been going through this year.
