While Formula One has been trying to strip down aero since 2008, Chevrolet have just released their IndyCar aero kit with more wings than a guy that just OD’d on Red Bull.
The aero kit for road courses and short ovals was revealed during the IndyCar media day at Indianapolis and will make its debut at the opening round of the 2015 season, the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
“This is an important milestone in Chevrolet’s involvement in IndyCar racing,” said Jim Campbell, GM’s U.S. vice president of performance vehicles and motorsports. “We focused on developing an aerodynamic package that delivers an optimal balance of downforce and drag, along with integrated engine performance. It’s a total performance package.”
