There are few recipes for carnage more effective than the safety car pulling off with just one lap to go, no matter the championship. That was exactly the situation in the Toyota 86 Racing Series at Newcastle, leaving several drivers trying to make up a few spots on the final lap.
It was all sedate enough until Liam McAdam was tagged around on the exit of a corner. A few people got past but at least 10 cars ended up becoming part of a decent (but slightly slower speed) replica of the GT3 crash from Macau.
As if the pile-up wasn’t good enough, we then get a car crossing the line on fire? Mayhem!
