From jump starts to slow starts to everything in between, the start UAE Formula 4 race had a bit of everything
The second race of the opening weekend in of the championship in Dubai had a thoroughly bizarre start. Nicola Marinangeli, fourth on the grid, made an enormous jump start, which seemed to completely disrupt everyone around him. Some others joined Marinangeli in jumping the start while others seemed to miss the start signal completely and made incredibly slow getaways.
Amazingly, everyone managed to avoid each other and the 12 cars continued on towards Turn 1 - albeit in a very different order to what they’d started in.

Unsurprisingly, there were penalties. Four drivers - a third of the field - were given five-second time penalties for jumping the start.
