‘Fast Friday’ is when the speeds are turned up in Indy 500 practice and drivers focus on qualifying at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Sebastien Bourdais was fastest for Dale Coyne Racing in a rain-hit session, with a best 233.116mph lap – that’s seriously quick!
But, it wasn’t quite such a strong session for Pigot and Veach, who both crashed heavily in the second part of practice.
After the rain delay, Pigot shunted hard at Turn 2 in his Juncos Racing, with heavy damage to the right-hand side of his car.
AJ Foyt’s Veach then impacted the Turn 1 wall a little while later, and his car continued on and smashed the Turn 2 barrier as well.
Both drivers were alright after their separate incidents but it left their teams with a lot of work to do ahead of qualifying on Saturday and Sunday.
