There’s Now Another Name Being Linked To A Seat At AlphaTauri

Red Bull have reportedly called off the hunt for Colton Herta’s missing super licence points, but there is one more driver that could help complete the energy drink giant’s silly season puzzle – Nyck de Vries.

As per both German outlet Motorsport-Magazin and French publication AutoHebdo, the Dutchman was spotted having a meeting with Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko in Austria. A potential move to AlphaTauri could free up Pierre Gasly to complete his switch to Alpine for 2023 👀

Red Bull boss Christian Horner had previously said that the team wouldn’t be keen on letting Gasly go “if there was not an interesting option available”.

But after his P9 finish for Williams at Monza, De Vries has convinced almost everyone that he deserves a seat in F1.

The former Formula E and F2 champ has already competed in three FP1 sessions this year (with three different teams) and is set to take part in an Alpine test in Budapest later this month.

At this point, even we might have a go at signing Nyck for 2023!

Do you think the Dutchman would be a good replacement for Gasly?
