This Monster Mazda MX-5 Crash Shows Why Wheel-To-Wheel Contact Is A Bad Idea

In the Global Mazda MX-5 Cup at Laguna Seca, racer Bryan Ortiz made a bit of an error going through the penultimate corner. As he came back on track to take up the racing line for the next corner he found another driver in his way.

The pair made a bit of contact, which is usually fine in cars like this. Unfortunately for Ortiz, his wheels connected with the other car, sending his car into a dramatic series of barrel rolls.

Good job the car stopped before reaching the barriers! The race was red-flagged, but thankfully Bryan was alright - albeit probably in need of a change of underwear…
