Crashing into a competitor on purpose is a bad thing, whatever the motorsport (well, except for banger racing) but it takes a special level of anger to to do it on a motorbike. But for Moto3 rider Aron Canet, that’s exactly what happened during the first practice session for the Argentine Grand Prix.
After having a quick lap spoiled by Makar Yurchenko, Canet threw up a few wild gestures. Obviously, Yurchenko couldn’t see those, so Canet made his displeasure known by apparently taking out his fellow rider on purpose.
Whenever something like this happens in F1 or any other championship you’ll get people calling for a ban, but the actual penalty won’t feel like it’s enough. In Moto3 it seems things are the same – stewards have decided it was a ‘racing incident’ and Canet has got away without a penalty…
