2008 best-selling novel 'The Art of Racing in the Rain' has been transformed into a film and, despite its unusual premise, it looks really rather good
The film tells the story of a racing driver, Denny Swift (a great fictional race car driver name) and his life and family. The twist is that the whole thing is seen through the eyes of his dog, Enzo, who’s trying to learn about humanity in preparation for when he gets reincarnated as a human.
It sounds completely barmy, but it actually looks really good. The IMSA-based racing scenes look beautifully shot and, as with any film with a dog involved, you just know it’s going to be a real tearjerker.
The film hits the cinemas on 9 August - the perfect way for you to get your motor racing fix during the summer break. And have a good, ugly cry.
