Toro Rosso were the last team on the grid to unveil its car and the third to do so today, following on from the earlier reveals of Haas and sister team Red Bull.
There were some suggestions that the team would be changing its livery this year in an effort to make it more distinct from main Red Bull squad, and they’ve absolutely delivered.
Gone are the dark blue base and stylised bull on the engine cover, replaced with a brighter blue with red accents and silver highlights. There’ll be no getting them confused with the main team now!
The STR12 will be powered by Renault engines again after a year of having to use old Ferrari units in 2016, and will be hoping that the switch will help them to finish higher than 7th in the Constructors’ Championship, where they’ve finished for the last three years.
Carlos Sainz returns for his 3rd season with the team while Daniil Kvyat is back for another bite of the cherry, having been demoted from Red Bull to make way for Max Verstappen last year.
With all the cars now launched the next phase of pre-season gets underway – testing. The cars will be in action for the first at the Barcelona circuit from the 27th of February to the 2nd of March. The second test takes place at the same track front the 7th-10th of March.
Then the cars will head to Melbourne for the first race of the season on the 26th of March. The wait is almost over!
