Motor racing adverts are usually pretty weird at the best of times, but this one takes the biscuit.

Made to promote to the merger of the American Le Mans Series and the Rolex Grand-Am SportsCar series into the United Sportscar Championship at the start of the year, the whole idea of using toys could have been done pretty well. Instead, the incredibly unnerving family look like they’ve have been dragged straight out of a parallel universe where everyone looks like a stock photo and where miniature racing drivers are kept as prisoners in boxes.

If I had the Daytona 24 hours going on in my living room I’d be pretty excited about it, but the children never smile and it makes everything seem really creepy. Until right at the end when one of them smiles, although that just makes things worse.
