A fan captured Formula 1’s new cars at the fast Turn 11/12 chicane in Australia and they look amazingly quick.
Sometimes F1 camera angles don’t quite show off the true speed and pace of the cars on the track, really not doing them justice.
But this static shot from Turn 11 was captured by a fan – Reddit user rrobertsstanley – on their phone and proves just how fast F1’s new era really is. F1, please do more shots like this!
Fatter tyres and new aero rules have seen lap times tumble, with Lewis Hamilton smashing the Albert Park Circuit record in qualifying.
This footage from the outside of Turn 11 gives us viewers an incredible view of one of the beautiful Toro Rosso STR12s flying through the fast chicane and proves the new regulations have made a difference.
Did anyone else’s jaw drop to the floor after watching that video? We can’t wait to see these cars shooting up Eau Rouge or through Monaco’s swimming pool section.
