The Most Unusual Designs For Hamilton’s Helmet Design Competition

There are already a huge variety of entries to Lewis Hamilton’s competition to design his 2017 helmet.

It’s absolutely awesome that Lewis Hamilton is interacting with his fans by asking them to design his helmet for 2017. And looking through the #LH44Design hashtag on Instagram throws up some amazing entries.

But remember, this is the internet, so everything gets a little bit weird eventually, and this contest is no exception. Here’s a selection of some of the most unusual, funny, and in some cases downright weird designs.

Hamilton said his Bahrain pole lap in 2016 was a “sexy lap”. But is this a sexy helmet design?

Gerhard Berger used a helmet covered in flags once. It was…different to this one.

The difficulty with this one would be having to maintain the same hairstyle and beard design for the whole season.

This one has pictures of his heroes, but it feels like he’s forgotten the most obvious one…

Oh yes, that’s better.
