You know an F1 driver is having a good time during a demonstration run when the tyres are completely worn down to the canvas by the end of it.
Off the back of his epic recovery drive to second place in Baku, Mercedes racer Bottas was back behind the wheel of an F1 car on Saturday.
He completed a demo run in a Mercedes W05 from Lewis Hamilton’s championship-winning season in 2014, the only hybrid F1 car taken to the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
After several runs up the hillclimb, completing donuts and burnouts for the crowds, the tyres on his W05 were completely destroyed.
Enjoyed my first @fosgoodwood experience today! 😁
And thank you all for the amazing support!#FOS #VB77 #Donuts #WhyNot @MercedesAMGF1 pic.twitter.com/Ib6THzFAJ0

As the above picture shows, the tyres were worn right down to the canvas, which really was remarkable. He was definitely having fun out there.
Reigning F1 champion Nico Rosberg (fresh from his retirement) is driving the W05 on Sunday.
