Vettel Phoned Rosberg To Apologise After Their Turn 1 Crash In Malaysia

Sebastian Vettel was branded an “idiot” by Max Verstappen after his turn one crash that dropped Nico Rosberg down to 21st position. The Ferrari driver, while not happy with Verstappen’s comments, agreed he was to blame but said, “if anything there’s two idiots” referring to the Dutch teenager.

Vettel though did patch things up with Rosberg, calling him after the race to apologise for their first corner collision.

“Sebastian called me to apologise, which was nice,” said Rosberg during his post race vlog. “It doesn’t get me back the points that I lost but it’s still nice to hear that.”

Vettel’s error didn’t just put him out of the race, he’s also been given a three-place grid penalty for this Sunday’s Japanese Grand Prix.
