Former Formula 1 driver Vitaly Petrov didn’t get 6 Hours of Spa qualifying off to the best of starts…
An LMP2 car was already in the wall before anyone could even put in a proper timed lap during 6 Hours of Spa qualifying.
Petrov spun his CEFC Manor TRS Racing LMP2 machine at Turn 9, just after Rivage, on the outside kerb entering the corner.
The car slammed into the barrier at high speed, giving his team a lot of work to do ahead of race day at Spa.
The red flag emerged for Petrov’s LMP2 Oreca to be cleared, but it was definitely an unusual way to start a qualifying session.
