A marshal had to take evasive action when Matheus Leist suddenly decided to turn around in the pits
What is it with motorsport at the moment and wheels not staying on after a pit stop? After the dramas in F1, it’s also apparently spread to IndyCar.
Shortly after leaving the pit box, the left-rear wheel of Leist’s car came off, thankfully stopping short of rolling onto the live race track. Leist was left facing the wrong way at the end of the pit lane and decided to execute an impressive (if slightly dodgy) spin turn with just one rear wheel.
