When you think of Alonso’s post-F1 career, you imagine him going after victory in all sorts of big races – the Indy 500, the Sebring 12 Hours, maybe even the Bathurst 1000 one day. But how about off-road, too?
When it comes to rally events, they don’t come much bigger or more gruelling than the Dakar Rally. Through his Toyota connection Alonso has been able to get behind the wheel of the Hilux which won the event earlier this year and get a taster of a very different kind of motorsport.
Yep, he’s definitely not hanging about there, is he? Then again, what else would you expect!
