McLaren’s using up one of its two filming days on Sunday, giving its new 2017 Formula 1 challenger its first on-track outing.

Fernando Alonso was behind the wheel of the new McLaren MCL32 as it emerged onto the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain, with both McLaren and Honda sharing videos of the moment.

It not only gives us a glimpse of the new car on track, but also provides us with a proper listen of the 2017 Honda V6 Turbo power unit.

Sure, we know it’s not a V10 or V8, but the deep growl of the Honda-powered MCL32 sounds pretty good to us.

The team unveiled its new car on Friday, revealing a striking new orange and black livery, which seems to have divided opinion among fans.

The car will be back on track on Monday for the start of pre-season testing, when the hard work really begins…
