Kimi Raikkonen got absolutely mobbed when he arrived at Shanghai Airport and dealt with it by awkwardly standing on an escalator
There can’t be many drivers out there with a bigger fanbase than Kimi. Having so many fans is great in a lot of ways, but not so good when you’re just trying to do something normal, like getting through an airport.
When Kimi arrived in Shanghai he was descended upon by a legion of fans, all trying to grab photos and videos. It makes for a seriously awkward journey through the airport as Kimi mixes the odd sheepish wave with just standing still and going to his ‘happy place’ as people scream his name.
On the plus side, being ambushed by fans was probably good experience for qualifying, when Sebastian Vettel ambushed his hold on provisional pole…
