Watch Stirling Moss Give A Driving Masterclass At Donington Park

Stirling Moss talks through a few laps of Donington Park in his old Cooper in this fascinating video

Sir Stirling Moss is rightly known as one the best Formula 1 drivers never to win a championship, but truth be told he’s probably up there as one of the best F1 drivers of all time. His career was cut short following a crash in 1962 and years of potential battles with the likes of Jim Clark were lost.

But although he (largely) retired from racing following his accident he still kept in the public eye and could often be seen thrashing some of his old cars around circuits and at events. This is one of those occasions as he talks through several laps of Donington Park in the Cooper-Climax T51 he raced in the 1959 F1 season. Starting off with some fairly basic stuff about racing lines, he then goes into how it feels to drive the car as he ramps up the pace. It really is lovely stuff to watch.

Earlier this year Moss finally retired from public life at the age of 88. Put your feet up, Stirling, you deserve it!
