When You Crash At Eau Rouge, You Know You’re In For A Bad Time

Due to the high speeds and nature of the Eau Rouge/Raidillon section at Spa-Francorchamps, crashing there is always going to be a fairly hefty impact.

The first Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe race at Spa featured this huge crash for Roberto Silva at the iconic set of corners.

He seemed to lose the rear through the exit of Eau Rouge, which pitched the car into a slide and slammed into the tyre barrier at high speed.

Fortunately, he managed to get out of his heavily-damaged car on his own and seemed to be alright. The safety car was deployed as a result.

It’s also worth noting in the video the complete lunatic at 1m40s who is clearly ignoring the yellow flags and almost steams into the back of the pack.

Then, early in the Spa 24 Hours race, part of the Blancpain GT Series, Pasin Lathouras walked away from this horrific shunt at Eau Rouge.

He lost control and smashed into the barrier at high speed, completely destroying his Ferrari 488 GT3. Amazingly, he was uninjured, but the race was understandably neutralised with a safety car.
