He’ll officially start in his role as of February 20th, but he certainly has big boots to fill!
Join us in saying a huge welcome to our new Team Principal! 🤩

James has spent over two decades in F1 and has been a part of the Merc squad since they came back to F1 in 2010. He’s also got experience with Brawn, Honda and BAR in the championship.
“While we are naturally sad to be saying goodbye to such a capable member of the team, I have no doubts whatsoever that he has all the necessary skills to become a fantastic Team Principal in Formula One,” Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff said.
“We wish him every success and are delighted that he will take this next step in his career with Williams, a strong technical partner of ours and one that has a place close to my own heart.”
