The Formula E track for the Las Vegas eRace – where there’s a prize fund of $1 million on offer – has been revealed and it looks damn awesome, a shame it’s only virtual…

This weekend marks the most lucrative sim race in eSports history, with a total prize fund of $1 million for the Las Vegas eRace – including a sum of $200,000 for the winner.

It was announced as part of the Formula E calendar but doesn’t award any points for the 20 Formula E drivers taking part. However, there is, of course, the prize fund.

Alongside this season’s FE grid will be 10 sim racers, who had to contend with numerous qualifying rounds in the ‘Road to Vegas’ to secure their spot on the grid. They’ve been assigned a FE team to work with.

The sim race is part of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The virtual 3.1-mile track layout was released for the first time on Friday, to give everyone an equal chance of trying it out.

The circuit itself looks downright insane, with some super-quick sections and taking in some of the city’s most famous landmarks. It’s a shame it’s all virtual, but the eRace will probably be pretty mad.

There was a practice session on Friday, with the rest of the action (practice, qualifying and then the race) taking place today – Saturday.
